Why Subscribe to More Miles to Go…?
If your goal is to be a full-time novelist, it is my hope you will find something here that helps you. That is my wish and vision for MM2G.
Dear fellow writer, thank you for stopping by my More Miles to Go... Substack. If you would like to track my progress and support me on my journey to the New York Times Bestseller List (smile), I hope you will consider signing in. No worries. It’s free forever. And you can unsubscribe at any time. You’ll also get my free “Supercharge Your Health” eCourse. Just saying! Also, I only publish once a month, sometimes bi-monthly, or a bit more if something earth-shattering is happening and burning a hole in my pocket (I also publish when I can on socials if you’d like to get my inspirational quotes).
To give you some context, I began MM2G when I lost my mother in 2023. I wanted to share our work. She was an underground writer, poet, artist, and mostly caregiver to my brother born with spina bifida. I never felt her creative work was given the recognition it deserved. I was an aspiring romance writer and this writing and publishing kept me close to my mom, the theory went. You see, she was and is my everything…
So when I lost my job around that time, and had already forfeited my aspirations of becoming a doctor to do my own work as a dedicated caregiver for my parents and brother, I never went back to corporate America.
As you may have guessed, I have since lost both parents and continue in my mother’s footsteps, looking after my brother. But I also have kept the creative gene alive. Here I am still, continuing to track my successes (see below), charting my path to becoming a full-time novelist, in the name of my mother—and all our collective creativity.
Perhaps, if your goal is to be a full-time novelist, you will find something here that helps you, too. That is my wish and vision for MM2G.
What’s more, now I have upped the ante. I am targeting the New York Times Bestseller List. I need to stay busy you see. So I needed a big goal, something to focus on while I process the fact: I will have to live this life without parents. The idea is a sobering one, indeed. So I aim to inspire, keep things positive.
All that said, if you chose to come along for the ride, which I sure hope you do, buckle up dear writer friend. This is a long-distance journey. We are setting out on our own Route 66 today, tomorrow, and forever. So what do you have to lose? Hop in, won’t you? Put down the rag top, crank up the tunes! Fire up the engine and away we go...
All my love,
Laura
